Hi, it's the FikaClip team! 🍁

In October we focused on guiding first-time users, giving you more control over AI video generation, and making caption editing more precise.

You can now convert longer source videos, and we closed a few gaps where credits were being spent for nothing.

Here's everything that changed.

🧭 1. Onboarding tour for new sign-ups

New accounts now get a guided tour that walks you from the dashboard → sample project → results page, step by step.

Follow it once and you'll know where to drop a video, where the results show up, and how to jump into the editor.

🎥 2. Choose your AI video generation model

AI video generation in the asset library and the editor now lets you pick the model you want. Until now it was fixed to a single model.

• 🎬 Kling 3.0 (default) · Seedance 2.0 Mini / Fast / 2.0 / 2.5 · Wan 3.0

• ⏱️ The credit cost for each model × length (5s / 10s) is shown before you generate

• 💡 Go with Mini for quick, light clips, or step up to a higher-tier model when quality matters most

🙈 3. Hide burned-in captions from the source video

Ever had captions baked into the original video clash with FikaClip's captions?

In the Editor V4 AI edit panel, Hide original captions now finds where the source captions sit in each segment and blurs them automatically.

• 🔍 Caption position is detected separately for every short-form segment

• 🎛️ You can still adjust the blur area by hand afterwards

✍️ 4. Detail / Overview tabs in the caption panel

The caption panel's "Edit words / Edit segments" toggle is now a Detail / Overview tab pair.

• 🔬 Detail lets you fine-tune captions word-group by word-group

• 🗺️ Overview shows the whole flow so you can shape segments at a glance

• ↩️ Line breaks now happen only where you insert them, so the editor and the exported video match exactly

⏳ 5. Source video limit raised to 2 hours

The maximum source video length has gone up from 60 minutes to 120 minutes. Long lectures, broadcasts, and stream replays can go straight in.

• 📏 Credit costs for the 60–90 and 90–120 minute tiers are shown before you convert

💳 6. Credit protection — no charge when caption regeneration returns the same result

• 🛡️ If AI precision caption regeneration produces captions identical to what you already have, the credits are refunded automatically

• ✅ Regenerating segment captions in the editor now asks for confirmation first, so you won't spend credits by accident

🧩 7. More editor elements & better image handling

• 🏷️ About 20 elements that used to live only in templates — brand lockups, social and live-stream style top bars, reaction bars, CTA and keyword cards, title bands — can now be inserted straight from the elements panel

• 🖼️ Drag an image element inside its frame to reposition it, and zoom in or out

• 🔤 Uploaded fonts are checked for render compatibility before upload, with font names corrected automatically

🛠️ 8. Fixes and quality-of-life improvements

• 🎞️ Downloads no longer stall at 90% because of a clip shorter than one frame

• 🎵 Applying a template that includes background music no longer fails to save

• ⏩ The editor reopens correctly after saving a project with a speed change plus a trimmed start

• 🧱 The last remaining clip can't be deleted by mistake — you'll see a notice instead

• ⏱️ Video duration is saved accurately after edits change the length

• 🔇 Overlapping ruler labels in the silence-removal screen are fixed

• 🔡 If a font fails to load, export now finishes with a fallback font instead of stopping

• 🔗 Merging captions on the timeline works again

• 🗂️ Navigating between pages no longer switches you to another tab's workspace

• 📤 Social Upload: selecting a directly connected TikTok account no longer loops on "Couldn't load creator info"
